'Hood Paddington, in west-central London, with blocks of stately 18th-century houses that have been converted into hotels, restaurants, and businesses. This hotel is a few blocks from the subway lines at Paddington Station, and a short walk from Kensington Gardens, perhaps the most beautiful part of 350-acre Hyde Park.
The Gist An inviting Georgian façade leads to a nondescript, slightly out-of-date lobby. But the 57 rooms have straightforward, up-to-date furnishings and come in a range of sizes—the brightest and biggest of which have multiple beds and are ideal for large families. In-room, free amenities include satellite TV and Wi-Fi. But online reviewers say to steer clear of the smallest rooms, directly above the lobby, because they have thin walls and are quite small. The Gresham is a few blocks from Paddington Station, which has an express rail connection with Heathrow, enabling you to dispense with the need for airport transfers.

Thanks for Sharing Readers Rod & Vicky, in a joint review, said that their room at the Gresham was "tiny," but they still considered it "a great value" because of its location "only two blocks from Paddington Station, so all of London was very accessible."
