About this Hotel

Price From $99

’Hood The Central Business District. In most cities it might be a boring place, but in New Orleans, it’s right between the French Quarter and the Arts District. The neighborhood is business by day, but the party rages around the clock just a couple of blocks away.

The Vibe The hotel takes great pride in being so cool that even actors Johnny Depp and Nicolas Cage like to stay here when they’re in town. You’ll see that chill vibe from the moment you walk in: guests relaxing in the lobby on oversize seats and smooth jazz echoing throughout the building. In the evening, everyone stops in at the candlelit bar Loa (named after voodoo spirits).

Rooms The black-and-white photos of jazz legends and landmarks in the 113 standard rooms serve as reminders that you’re in New Orleans. The exceptionally tall ceilings and seven-foot-tall headboards make the rooms appear much bigger than they are. Each room has amenities like iHome stereos, Aveda products, and a granite vanity with exquisite lights, all topped off by a large crystal chandelier.

Plus Sure, there’s a cool lobby lounge and Basque-influenced restaurant, but it’s also the only place in town where you’ll find a voodoo-themed festival going on in the lobby on St. John’s Eve.

Minus Rooms supposedly have an average size of 300 square feet, but some can seem pretty small. A few don’t have windows.

Free Wi-Fi? Yes.

Credit Cards Accepted Yes.

Details: Windowless “Rock Star” rooms are the least expensive category from $99; kings with terraces, the priciest.
