About this Hotel

Price From $149

'Hood Mid-City West, across the street from L.A.'s historic Farmers Market and high-end shopping center The Grove. Within a few blocks is an emerging restaurant row with new classics like Animal and Chameau.

The Vibe Committed to its theme (checkered curtains, lemonade pitchers, and paintings of barnyard animals abound), this upscale renovated motel is ideal for social people looking to hang out by the pool or in the outdoor courtyard before sightseeing.

Rooms While the conventional motel roots do show (bathroom sinks are by the doors), the 66 rooms have been redone stylishly with faux-tin ceilings, real glassware, and denim bedspreads. Couples looking to reignite sparks should request the No-Tell room, with a wet bar, leather furniture, and an enormous mirror over the bed.

Plus Farmers Market across the street is good (and cheap) for meals.

Minus Rollicking outdoor areas and road construction mean noise. If sleeping late is a vacation goal, this isn't an ideal spot.

Free Wi-Fi? Yes.

Credit Cards Accepted AmEx, Mastercard, Visa.

Details Doubles from $149.
