The Paris-London train line will get faster in 2010

By October 2010, it should take even less time to travel by train between London and Paris. Air France plans to jump into the train business. It plans to offer service via the underground Chunnel connecting England and France. It will compete with Eurostar, a company with monopoly control of the route right now.

Current train times are about two hours and 15 minutes at best. But Air France plans to install trains that will carry passengers at faster speeds, bringing the trip time to under two hours.

The fresh competition with Eurostar also means that ticket prices might drop. Prices start at about $105 one way.
